I am an ardent supporter of what Nacro aims to achieve. During 2010, nacro came across earlier editions of ex-offender.co.uk and desistance.info and asked if I would get involved with a new campaign. The campaign is to amend the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which I feel is a barrier for criminals to gain employment and acceptance back into society.
Nacro use my story in terms of the difficulties I faced in terms of gaining employment while at the same time disclosing a ‘non-spent’ conviction I have for life, for attempted robbery over 20 years ago.
